BMW officially presented the new sedan BMW 5 series.

The style is like a new BMW 7-Series, the overall appearance is less controversial and raises fewer objections than the previous model. The car looks more aggressive. Its length is 4899 mm (the previous model is 4841 mm long). Wheelbase is increased by as much as 80 mm and 2968 mm reach.

Upgraded engines are offered with the new "five" as they enter turbo engine with six cylinders and those V8. Increased length and the largest wheelbase in the segment can be felt in the extra space in front of the knee of the rear seat passengers (13 mm more than the space offered by the previous model).

Boot capacity is 520 liters. The rear seat that can be folded, to be divided in the ratio 40:20:40. The new petition is assembled on the same platform on which makes and 5-Series GT, and Series-7. The car has a system Electric Power Steering with Servotronic assistant (electrobooster the steering system). Gasoline engines: BMW 523i e with three-liter naturally aspirated engine with 6 cylinders, 204 hp power and maximum torque of 270Nm. It accelerates the car in 7.9 seconds, top speed is 238 km / h and average consumption of 7.6 liters per 100 km.

Should BMW 528i with 6 cylinder, 258 hp power maximum torque 310Nm. Acceleration is 6.6 seconds, top speed electronically limited to 250 km / h and average combined consumption is 7.8 liters per 100 km.

In the BMW 535i is fitted with the new three-liter 6 cylinder engine, which has a single turbine (as opposed to bi-turbo in the 335i). Its maximum power is 306 hp, maximum torque of 400Nm. Acceleration is 6 seconds and an average combined fuel consumption is 8.5 liters per 100 km.

On top is a BMW 550i engine with bi turbo V8 with 4.4 liters capacity, power 407 hp and maximum torque of 600Nm. Acceleration is 5 seconds and top speed is again limited electronically to 250 km / h. The average combined fuel consumption is 10.4 liters per 100 km.

As standard with this model features automatic transmission with eight grades in all other models will be fitted standard manual gearbox with six degrees.
